Dr Andrew Brunton is a highly proficient and well-regarded Skin Cancer Specialist with 10 years of experience in the field. Dr Brunton is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners and holds a Master’s Degree in Skin Cancer Medicine obtained through the University of Queensland. He brings an abundance of experience and knowledge to his patient care.

 

After completing his medical degree at the University of Newcastle, Dr Brunton gained extensive experience in General Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Urological Surgery during his time as a General Surgical trainee in the Hunter New England area of NSW. Working as a surgical trainee in multiple rural locations allowed Dr Brunton to gain many hours of hands-on surgical experience in a wide range of surgical specialities. This broad surgical experience has allowed Dr Brunton to not only gain exceptional surgical skills but to discover his passion for skin cancer surgery.

 

Skin Cancer medicine involves holistic patient care, incorporating diagnostic accuracy and, when required, surgical precision. Dr Brunton is driven to providing an unwavering commitment to these important aspects of patient care. He skilfully blends his diagnostic dermatoscopy skills, his technical surgical expertise and by listening to his patients needs is able to deliver the best outcomes for his patients.

 

Over the years, Dr Brunton has enjoyed sharing his knowledge and skills with fellow skin cancer practitioners. He has been involved with teaching skin cancer medicine and skin cancer surgery locally, nationally and internationally.

 

Andrew moved with his wife and two children from Newcastle to Brisbane in 2020. He loves spending time with his family and running his not-for-profit taxi service on Saturday’s for his children’s sport and other activities. He can sometimes be found at Suncorp Stadium supporting the Queensland Reds, Wallabies or the Bronco’s.

 

Dr Brunton prides himself on staying up to date with advancing knowledge, technologies and techniques within the skin cancer medicine and surgery field. He spent over two years working as a clinical adviser in the medical software field, helping a company to develop cutting edge medical software. With integration of photography and fast approaching A.I. diagnostic tools, Dr Brunton aims to deliver one of the most advanced skin cancer services in Australia.
